Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted Friday, August 26, 2022 from approximately 10:00 am until. Staff records and policy and procedures were submitted to the department and reviewed. The licensing inspector was assisted during the inspection by members of management and the site director. During the inspection, compliance with some standards could not be determined since the center is not yet in operation.
The program plans to follow the public school calendar operating September through June providing after school care at Cardinal Elementary School. The program will provide care from 2:45 pm to 6:00 pm, for children ages four years, nine months through twelve years, eleven months. The facility can accommodate the requested capacity of 100 children. The program will utilize the cafeteria, gym, three classrooms and outdoor play spaces as areas to provide care for children. Toys, educational materials, games, arts and crafts materials and other items for the children to use have been purchased. All areas of the school that will be used by the program were inspected. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two staff records were reviewed.

The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued. The center is in substantial compliance with the standards that could be determined. A six-month conditional license will be recommended. During the conditional period, the center will be subject to unannounced licensing inspections, with the first inspection taking place within the first sixty days of licensure.
