Comments:
A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 8/9/2023. There were 2 children present with 3 staff supervising. The point total was7. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total 5 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 1:20 pm and concluded at 2:45 pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-70-A
Description: Based on a review of records and interview, the provider did not ensure that each child's parent is provided all required information, in writing, before the child's first day of attendance.

Evidence:
Five children's records were reviewed.
The record for child #1, child #2 and child #3 did not contain documentation tt demonstrate that the parents were provided the requirement for parents to inform the family day hone within 24 hours if the child or any household member has developed any communicable disease.
The records for child #2 and child #3 did not contain documentation to demonstrate that the parents were informed of the family day home's discipline polies to include acceptable and unacceptable discipline measures.
The records for child #2 and child #3 did not contain documentation to demonstrate that the parents were informed of the custodial parents' right to be admitted to the family day home any time their child is in care.
The provider reviewed the documentation and confirmed that this documentation was not present.

Plan of Correction: The provider began gathering forms during the inspection so that she may give this information to parents by the end of the week and have parents sign acknowledgement of receipt of the required information / agreements.
These forms will be added to the "enrollment packets" for children enrolling in the future.
