A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 06/01/2018 from 9:30am to 2:35pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The children were observed playing with toys, playing on the playground, reading, exercising, and eating lunch. A formal observation was completed with the two and three year old classrooms. Lunch consisted of turkey and cheese sandwiches, mandarin oranges, mixed vegetables and milk. The menu was posted. Interviews were held with staff throughout the inspection, and the inspector interacted with children in each classroom when appropriate. All classrooms and playgrounds were inspected today. Eight children?s records and five employee records were reviewed during this inspection. Medication is being administered and was reviewed. Ten injury reports were reviewed as well as the center?s injury prevention plan which was updated 05/18/2018. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 05/03/2018 Last shelter-in-place drill: 05/10/2018 Last fire inspection: 01/15/2018 Last health inspection: 12/15/2017 Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed: Infants - 7:2 Toddlers ? 8:2 Twos #1 - 15:2 Twos #2 - 12:2 Threes - 19:2 Fours ? 16:2 A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
