An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted with the center director and center staff. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see that report for details). Reminder: all staff must have documentation of the mandatory VA Pre-service Training within 90 days of hire. Staff must have documentation of first aid and CPR certification within the first 30 days of hire. There are no children with diagnosed food allergies currently enrolled. Evacuation drills have been conducted monthly, shelter in place drills are conducted twice a year, and a lockdown drill has been conducted once a year. Lockdown drills are to isolate children and staff from a security threat; shelter in place is to protect children from a natural or manmade threat. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at 540-219-4122 or email tara.barton@dss.virginia.gov.
