- Technical Assistance:
Discussion was had with YMCA administrative staff in regards to needed changes to the upcoming license. Under the current license a stipulation is in place stating that the capacity may increase to 150 during the summer camp program, and that the age range may drop; start at 4 1/2 also during the summer camp program. Now, 150 would need to be changed to reflect the overall capacity, and 4 1/2 would need to be changed to reflect the overall start of the age range up to 12 years. It should also be noted that the renewal fee for a capacity of 60 ($105) is different than the capacity of 150 ($140).
The following inspection took place between the hours of 3:30 pm through 5 pm. Today, I met with the Staff of the YMCA summer camp program held on site at Cool Spring Elementary school located in Leesburg, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced renewal inspection there were a total of 47 children with 3 staff; good ratios in both rooms. A total of 5 children?s files were reviewed. Staff files were reviewed off site during a separate inspection. The children were engaged in the following: large motor skills in the gym, games, art, toy play, reading, snack, bathroom breaks, hand washing, and other organized activities. If you should have any future questions, please call or send an e-mail. Thank you. Charlie Perkins, Licensing Inspector (703) 309-3963
