Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted from 9:55 AM to 4:15 PM to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Today, there were forty children, ages infancy through five years, with seven to eight staff. I viewed record keeping, operational responsibilities, food service, children's information, caregiver training, emergency planning and drills, hazardous substance practices, behavioral guidance, hand washing, five records for children, and five staff records. No medication or food allergies at this time. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. A violation was found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Violations:
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-B-3
Description: Based on a review of the emergency response procedures, and an interview with administrative staff, there were written procedures missing in the event of a lockdown. Evidence: There were not any methods to secure the facility and the designated lockdown locations such as locking doors and covering windows. Also, the plan did not address reuniting children with parents or an authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child.

Plan of Correction: The administrative staff will work on adding procedures to secure the building and lockdown location to the emergency plan. Also, the plan for reuniting parents with children or an authorized person in the event of a lockdown will be added in writing to the emergency plan.
