Discussed with staff the importance of washing hands after art activities, ongoing routine inspection of playground equipment and materials.
- Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. A total of 36 children and 6 staff were present. Observation of all three classrooms and playground was conducted. Children were observed participating in circle time, art and sensory activities, and electronic educational programs. We Art activities and children participation were observed. All three classrooms had children's art work displayed and consisted of self portraits, finger-painting, and foam art work. Ample supplies of materials, age appropriate supplies and equipment. Observed bathroom and hand-washing, transition from classroom to playground, lunch (waffles, banana, sausage link and milk) and parental pick up. A total of 7 children's record were reviewed. No new staff were hired since the last inspection in February. All background checks remain current. This inspection began at 9:30am and ended at 12:30pm. Thank you for your cooperation. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on review of 7 children's records, 1 record was found incomplete. Evidence: Child#1's record did not have emergency contact addresses documented. Plan of Correction: I will catch the mom today and get the information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, one area of the building was not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: Paint was peeling and accessible to children in the socio-dramatic area of the Trailblazers room which is a potential hazard. Plan of Correction: I will touch up the paint
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-520-B Description: Based on observation, over the counter preventative skin products were not labeled. Evidence: 2 bottles of Sunscreen and 2 bottles of bug spray in the Explorer room were not labeled with the child's name. Plan of Correction: I will re-label them
