Technical Assistance:
The following will be completed prior to opening day; Cubbie units installed in classrooms, diaper changing stations with running water will be installed in the toddler and two year classrooms, more step stools will be purchased for the twos and preschool bathrooms, the owner and staff have mobile phones that will be used until the phones are installed. The following was reviewed and will be posted prior to opening: emergency phone numbers, classroom schedules and emergency preparedness maps. The following was reviewed and will be emailed to the licensing inspector: Jefferies food certificate and insurance liability. Discussed with staff placement of the crock pots in the infant classroom.

Comments:
An announced Initial inspection was conducted from 9:00 am-1:00. There were no children in care this date, a few staff were setting up classrooms during this inspection. Some maintenance was still being completed, weather stripping and the cleaning crew were cleaning floors, bathrooms and windows. Five classrooms were inspected and measured. Eight cribs were inspected. The outside fenced in black top was measured and will be used for outside play until the playground is built. The owner and manger's record was reviewed and found complete. The emergency preparedness plan, staff handbook and model forms were reviewed. The owner was notified that the center can not open for care on Monday, September 17, 2018 until the proper certificates (fire, health and certificate of occupancy to include the Use group and capacity) are received in the licensing office. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-250-A
Description: Based on record review and staff interview, written documentation of building , fire and health department has not been obtained. Evidence: The owner does not have documentation of approval from the Building department to include the certificate of occupancy, fire department or health department certifications.

Plan of Correction: I will email the fire, health and building certificates to the licensing inspector upon approval and receipt of each inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-B
Description: Based on record review and staff interview, the emergency preparedness plan does not include all components for evacuation. Evidence: The emergency preparedness plan was reviewed, the plan does not include the evacuation areas and assembly areas outside the building for the new school.

Plan of Correction: We will come up with a temporary assembly area until we meet with the fire Marshall to review the plan. The Fire Marshall will review the plan by October 31, 2018. The emergency preparedness plan will be updated at this time.
