Today an unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place between the hours of 9:20am and 10:50am. At the start of the inspection there were a total of 8 children with 2 staff members and 3 parent volunteers; all ratios were incompliance. A total of 4 children?s files,1 staff file and 4 parent volunteer files were reviewed. There are currently no medications on site. The children were observed singing, dancing, being read to, eating a morning snack and other organized activities. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at email@example.com. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on observation and interview, the center does not have a diaper disposal system that is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the staff member's hand nor the soiled diaper touches an exterior surface of the storage system during disposal. Evidence: There is a changing table located in the boys bathroom. The center director confirmed that some children are still potty training and wear pull ups. The garbage can that is currently in the bathroom requires staff members to use their hands to dispose of pull ups or diapers. Plan of Correction: I will contact Reston Association to see about getting at least one of the trash cans replaced.
