Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the assistant director and director of the program beginning at 7:45 AM and ending at 10:52 AM. There were twenty-two children in the care of five staff members during the inspection. The children's ages ranged between ten months and seven years old. The children were observed eating breakfast which consisted of cereal and milk, peaches, and water. Children were also observed playing with blocks and manipulatives. Hand washing procedures were observed and in compliance. Six children's records and five staff records were reviewed and in compliance. Three medications were reviewed and in compliance. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather-band radio were observed and in compliance. The most recent lock down drill was documented as 05/29/18. The most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented as 06/20/18. The most recent emergency escape drill was documented as 08/13/18. The most recent fire inspection was documented as 06/06/18. The most recent health inspection was documented as 03/15/18.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A
Description: Based on a review of documentation it was determined the facility did not have a current annual fire inspection. Evidence: The most recent fire inspection was dated June 6, 2017.

Plan of Correction: The director contacted the Fire Marshal's Office during the inspection to schedule a fire inspection at the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B
Description: Based on observation the diapering surface was absorbent. Evidence: The changing pads in the infant B classroom and Toddler classroom had a tears in the cover making it an absorbent surface.

Plan of Correction: The facility had a staff member purchase replacement pads for the classrooms during the inspection.
