An unannounced, mandated monitoring inspection was conducted today. The inspector arrived t 12:40 PM and departed at 2:30 PM. Ten children were in care. Nap time was observed. A sample size of five children's records and five staff records were reviewed. Medication administration and injury records were reviewed. The facility plans to close this season on October 12, 2018. An exit meeting was held with the program director prior to closure of the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based upon observation, the fac iity has not ensured that areas outside are maintained to be safe. Evidence: 1. There are large pieces of paint peeling from the side and rear of the building exterior. The areas of peeing paint are within reach of the children. 2. There is a two foot long sprig of poison ivy along the side fence of the playground. Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following: 1. The building will be sanded, sealed and repainted during the off season when children are not in care. 2. The poison ivy will be removed. Prior to opening next season, the entire area will be treated as needed.
