63.2 Facilities and Programs..
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from approximately 8:50 am to 11:15 am to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. The licensing inspector observed 22 children being supervised by 4 staff including the site supervisor. During the inspection, the licensing inspector conducted observations of the children in care participating in various activities to include transitioning from am snack, completing bathroom breaks, participating in days of the week and current date activity, name recognition, and discussing the weather, dancing to interactive songs, and working in centers. The licensing inspector also completed observation of parent drop off. The program's designated childcare areas, bathrooms, and outdoor playground area were inspected. The first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. There were five children's records reviewed by the inspector. The licensing inspector reviewed four staff's emergency contact and required certificate of completion. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation and interview with staff, the center did not ensure all areas and equipment were maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition. Evidence: During the inspection on October 2, 2018, the following was observed on the Kids playground area: 1. One red trike missing two pedals. 2. One red trike missing one pedal. 3. A storage bin cracked at the bottom and accessible to the children. Interview with staff confirmed use of the playground area by the children in care. Plan of Correction: The Center Supervisor will ensure that all equipment is well maintained or discarded. Items in question have already been removed.
