22VAC40-191 Background Checks (22VAC40-191)
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 12:10pm -1:45pm. Upon arrival there were 80 children in care with 11 staff present. A sample of 3 staff and 4 children's records were reviewed. The center did not have any medications or children with diagnosed food allergies present at the time of inspection. Children were observed during nap and quiet time. School-age children were observed in circle with staff and infants were observed holding and playing with the infants on the floor.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all areas and equipment of the center did not ensure all areas and equipment were maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: In the infant room there was a crib occupied by an infant in care that had a loose fitting sheet on the crib. Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the assistant director during the exit interview: The Crib sheet will be replaced today with a tight fitting sheet.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-440-H Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all cribs met all requirements. Evidence: There were 4 cribs in the infant room that did not have at least 30" space at the service side. There was a soft play gym on the floor in front of the 4 cribs. Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the assistant director during the exit interview: The play gym will be moved to ensure all cribs have at least 30" of space at the service side.
