As a reminder please label both medication bottles and caps with child's name and date, in case the medication cap is missing.
Unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 24 children with 10 staff present during the inspection. Observation of the entire center was made today. Children were observed playing on a large colorful padded mat with foam steps to climb on to enhance gross motor skills. In the infant I class, staff observed holding children, playing with rattles and colorful shapes and encouraging tummy time. Hand washing and diapering procedures were observed. Sanitation of tables and food trays was also observed. All cribs inspected. All medication on site was inspected and authorizations were complete. A nice transition from play time to lunch time was made. Children observed having hands washed prior to lunch. Lunch today was hamburger, potatoes and pineapple. A total of 5 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed today and found complete. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org with questions. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on observation of the Infant 1 and Infant 2 diapering area, both were found non-absorbent. Evidence: The diaper surface in the Infant 1 classroom had a crack on the side of the diapering surface. The diaper surface in the Crib area has a hole in the left side corner. Both these surfaces are no longer absorbent. Plan of Correction: We will order new surfaces today. Protective paper will be used in the interim.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-I Description: Based on observation of the food prep area, food was determined no longer sanitary. Evidence: Oatmeal was found on shelving with an expiration date of 8/30/2018. Plan of Correction: This oatmeal was disposed of immediately.
