Reviewed the Child Care Program Regulation (22VAC40-665) - Subsidy inspection requirements memo and Group Size Requirements Information Sheet that was distributed to subsidy providers on 10/16/2018.
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety inspection on Tuesday October 30, 2018 from 11:00am to 1:30pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The children were observed naming the numbers on a clock and washing their hands for lunch. They were later observed eating lunch and resting on cots. Lunch consisted of bologna sandwich, green beans, peaches and milk. The lunch menu was posted. All classrooms, the playground and van were inspected today. Five children?s records and five employee records were reviewed during this inspection. Medication is being administered and was reviewed. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 10/10/2018 Last shelter-in-place drill: 10/10/2018 Total enrollment today: 42 Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed: Infants ?4:1 Toddlers ?5:1 Twos ? 8:2 Threes-14:2 Young Fours ?7:1 Pre-K ?4:1 School Age ? not present A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found. The facility has not yet complied with the following requirement: 22VAC40-665-770-Procedures for emergencies (Procedures for the continuity of operations to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency must be included in the emergency response plan.) was provided. The facility is to review the new requirements and work with their assigned inspector to ensure future compliance
