Consultation provided on the need to maintain all children's files at the center.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today with the director, who was present with a second staff and twenty-two children. The children were outside on the playground at the beginning of the inspection. They returned to the classroom after washing their hands and then were provided their afternoon snack, which consisted of granola, yogurt and water. Three staff files were reviewed today, to include the EEC teacher's file. Seven children's files were reviewed as well. No child had medication on site. Arrival time: 3: 35 pm Departure time: 4: 45 pm
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on a review of the available children's files and an interview with the director, it was determined that the center failed to maintain and keep at the center a record for each child enrolled. Evidence: Twenty-seven children are enrolled in the licensed program, however the center could not produce files for 11 of the 27 children enrolled, ( children A through K). Plan of Correction: We were able to locate the files and made sure they were at the center on 10/30/18.
