Licensing inspector arrived at 11:00am and departed at 2:15pm to conduct a licensing inspection and a Subsidy Health and Safety inspection. At the time of the tour there was 70 children in care with 14 staff . Additional staff was present to assist. Children were observed during tummy time, lunch time, nap time, story time, stations, working on writing letters and shapes and cleaning up . The sample size was six staff records and five children records.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure all areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, were maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on November 01, 2018, the following was observed: The classroom door entering the two year old room, there was brown peeling paint. The bathroom in the two year old classroom, there was moveable dirt in both bathrooms. In multiple bathrooms, the water valves metal plates are rusting and a red color residue comes off on to the paper towel when touched. Outside on the playground, the gray paint is peeling on the building and the the paint is peeling on the fence. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure the fall zones where the playground equipment is provided had adequate resilient surfacing. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on November 1, 2018 , the resilient surfacing on both playgrounds were inadequate. The resilient surfacings were unmeasurable.
