- Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included medication authorizations.
An unannounced monitoring inspection took place today on Teacher Work Day from 12:45 - 2 pm. There were 64 children present with 5 staff. I observed as children arrived via two buses after a trip to a local bowling alley; and prepared for lunch. I also saw children busy with cards, counting games, drawing and excitement because it was "electronics day." The theme is imagination and "paying it forward;" with children collecting health supplies for a charity. If you have any questions, please contact me at email@example.com
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A Description: Based on a review of records today, one medication authorization did not have a parent's written authorization. Evidence: A medication authorization was present for two allergy medications and signed by the physician for Child # 1, but it was not signed by the parent as required. Plan of Correction: We will have them sign tomorrow.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G Description: Based on a review of children's medications today, it was found that one child's prescription medication did not have the name of the child identified on the prescription as required. Evidence: The prescription label for the medication intended for Child #2 had the name of a different family member on the label. Plan of Correction: We will have the parent pick up the medication and exchange it with the sibling's medication, making sure each child has the correctly labeled prescription.
