Technical Assistance:
The licensing inspector discussed the Child Care Program Regulation (22VAC40-665) - Subsidy inspection requirement changes with the center's director.

Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 10:00am to 1:15pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The center?s director assisted the inspector throughout the inspection. The census for today?s inspection consisted of 41 children in care in the care of 8 direct staff members. Additional staff were on site assisting the center?s director. During the inspection, the licensing inspector observed the children in their designated classrooms interacting with peer and staff. One group of children was formally observed in their classroom playing in centers and finishing up a coloring activity. Another group of children was observed playing with toys and dancing. The staff were observed having positive interactions with the children. Today?s lunch consisted of mac & cheese, elbow noodles, carrots, apple sauce, and milk. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found to be in compliance. During the inspection, the required postings were reviewed and determined to be in compliance. There were five children?s records and five staff?s records reviewed on this date. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined over all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Last evacuation drill: 11/13/2018 Last shelter-in-place drill: 11/19/2018 and 09/17/2018 Lockdown drill: 10/08/2018 There were no violations found during this supplemental Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection. If you have any questions, please contact the licensing inspector, Florence Martus, at (804) 662-9772.
