Standard #: 22VAC40-185-400-B Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on observation of the preschool classroom, and interviews with staff, it was determined that not all behavioral guidance was constructive in nature, age and stage appropriate, or intended to redirect children to appropriate behavior and resolve conflicts. Evidence: On Monday, September 17th, the center offered children in the preschool class a mini donut, as a reward at snack time, for good behavior. Four out of 18 children did not receive a donut, and only had yogurt and crackers for their snack. Plan of Correction: To make sure rewards are age and stage appropriate, and given in a more timely manner.
