An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed today. The physical plant, annual fire and health inspection, 16 children's files, children's activities, medications, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected between 10:30am-1:30pm. There were 163 children under the supervision of 24 staff. The Childcare Program had 18 children under the supervision of 2 teachers and the Pre-school had145 children being supervised by 22 teachers. Today, the children played outside, had group activities in the gym, ate lunch, enjoyed free play, worked on writing the letter "K" and had circle time . The interactions between the children and staff were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. The children bring in their lunches from home each day that they are in care. Staff files are not reviewed on site, but during an annual administrative file review. There are 10 staff currently certified in MAT(medication administration training).
