An unannounced full renewal inspection was conducted today. There were 54 children in care, with a total of 10 staff members assigned to their direct supervision. Children's records, staff records, staff training, background checks, administrative records, children's medications, emergency preparedness items, the physical plant, and classroom programming were inspected today. All children were observed actively engaged in a very large variety of age-appropriate activities, including: playing outside, eating snack from home, creating theme-related art projects, participating in active indoor play, playing group games, and engaging in self-directed creative play activities. All classrooms are supplied with a wide range of hands on activities that were created by the teaching staff. This inspection was completed between approximately 10:00am and 12:00pm. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A Description: Based on a review of children's medications, it was determined that one authorization form has not been completed as required. Evidence: The medication authorization form for one child's long-term prescription medication does not include the parent's signature. Plan of Correction: I will ask the parent to sign the form.
