Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted with the director. There were 16 children in care and were observed during rest time, snack time and homework . The age range of the children was two years to ten years old. There were no children on medications and five staff are current in MAT. Five staff files and four officers records were reviewed. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-A
Description: Based on observation not all staff were activity supervising the children in care. Evidence: When LI walked into the school age class room, staff A was looking down texting on a phone.

Plan of Correction: Remind staff of the school policy regarding phones when supervising the children.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-A
Description: Based on observation not all resting children had a top and bottom cover. Evidence: One child did not have a top cover while resting.

Plan of Correction: We will remind staff to give resting children a top cover.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A
Description: Based on observation the center allowed children to eat snack and while working on activities. Evidence: Children were eating snack while working on home work other children were working on the computer.

Plan of Correction: We will retain staff that children must wash hands before snack and after snack before starting activities.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B
Description: Based on observation two rooms did not have working foot operated diaper pails for soiled diapers. Evidence: In one two year old room the staff were using a diaper jennie and in the second two year old room the step on diaper pail was not working.

Plan of Correction: We will buy two new step on diaper pails
