An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today between approximately 10:10am and 11:30am. 30 children were directly supervised by 7 staff members. Ratios were in compliance. The physical space, cribs, infant bottles, 3 staff records, 5 children's records, evacuation drills, attendance records, emergency supplies and medications were reviewed. Required documents were posted. Children were observed in small group activities, singing, working on projects and engaged with the staff. The space was clean, organized and contained an abundance of age appropriate materials. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Evidence: Staff #1 did not have evidence of the 16 hours required for annual training.Plan of Correction: Staff #1 will have her required training hours by March.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-420-E-3 Description: Based on record review, 5 out of 5 children's records did not contain the annual parent confirmation that the required information in the child's record is up to date.
Evidence: The records for Child #1 - Child #5 did not contain the annual parent review confirmation.Plan of Correction: The records will be reviewed by parents by 01/25/19.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-510-C Description: Based on review of medications, one medication was expired.
Evidence: The medication for Child #6 expired in May of 2018.Plan of Correction: We returned the medication to the parents.
