Discussed with the Owner and the Director the process of moving children to maintain ratio on an ongoing basis. Because this is not what is best for children, it will not continue.
An unannounced inspection was conducted to investigate a complaint that was received in the Licensing office regarding classroom ratios. Based on observation, it was determined that one classroom was out of ratio. In addition several children were moved from one classroom to another to maintain ratio. The complaint was deemed to be Valid and a program to remedy the situation was discussed with the administrative staff and will be monitored by the Licensing Inspector. If there are any questions, please contact Linda Reynolds at 540-272-2663 or email Linda.email@example.com
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-1 Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on observation, it was determined that the Infant classroom was not in appropriate ratio of 1 staff to 4 infants. Evidence: At 8:45 on this date, there were 5 infants with one staff person. Plan of Correction: The Director moved one older infant to the older infant room. Then both rooms were at a 1:4 ratio. The Center administration will work on assuring that all classrooms are in ratio without moving children from room to room to maintain appropriate ratio. The Owners will be on site to assist with classroom coverage or door duty.
