A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from approximately 2:00pm to 4:15pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The center's director assisted the inspector throughout the inspection. The census for today's inspection consisted of 46 child in care. Upon the inspector's arrival, the preschool children were observed in their respective classrooms napping. Later, the children in the 2's class were observed eating snack and washing their hands. The children in the older 2's/3's class were observed playing with toy animals on the carpet. The children in the 3's/4's class were observed during a puzzle activity. The children in the 4's class were observed during a teacher-led activity with numbers and coloring. The children in the 4's/5's class were observed playing in centers. While the inspector was on site, some of the school age children arrived and were observed in different centers. Staff were observed having positive interactions with the children. The classrooms are decorated with the children's artwork and are equipped with age and stage appropriate materials. The center had the following posted: license, daily schedule, emergency numbers, evacuation maps, menu, and various parent information. There were five children's records and five staff's records reviewed during this inspection. The center's bus was inspected and found to be in compliance. Emergency medications and authorizations were reviewed. There are MAT certified staff on site at the center and various staff with Daily Health Observation training.
