As a reminder, when children are getting food brought from home they are to sit before eating. Clarification regarding medication orders and dosage changes provided.
An unannounced Renewal inspection was conducted this date. A total of 31 children with 2 staff were present. The children were observed arriving for the program, placing their belongings in their bins and quietly sitting for the attendance. A nice transition was observed from attendance to bathroom and hand washing. The children helped themselves to snack and drink. Snack today was snack cakes and milk. Sanitizing of tables by staff was observed after snack time. The children actively engaged in coloring, selecting books to read and completing homework. A marble reward program in place which is positively received by the children. Emergency drills and incident reviewed CPR/First Aid, MAT and daily health training were all verified. Staff qualifications, health requirements and background checks are reviewed annually at the Administrative office. Previous violations reviewed and one repeated violation found from the last inspection. This inspection began at 2pm and ended at 3:30pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-C Description: Based on review of the center's first aid kit, all required items were not found. Evidence: The first aid kit did not contain a working thermometer. Plan of Correction: A thermometer was brought to the center during the inspection.
