An unannounced monitoring inspection was was conducted today from 10:25am-1:15pm. A total of 35 children were present with 9 staff. Observations were made during children's indoor activities, such as reading, imaginative play, and open play with manipulatives, and infant bottle feeding. A sample of 10 children's records, 5 staff records, medications and emergency drills were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are documented on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observations, areas in the center were not maintained in safe conditions. Evidence: A metal plate on the bathroom floor adjacent to the 3 year old classroom was loose - posing a tripping hazard. Plan of Correction: We will place a work order to have the necessary repairs made.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on observations, protective outlet covers were not installed on all unused outlets. Evidence: A protective cover was not installed on an unused electrical outlet in the PreK classroom, the 2 year old classroom and in the school age room. Plan of Correction: We have extra outlet covers and will install them immediately.
