An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:00am-12:30pm. There were 94 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 16 direct care staff. The physical plant, programing, staff records, children?s records, medications, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, playing outside, and eating snack. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, not all areas of the center are maintained in a clean, safe condition. Evidence: Located in the Pre K 1, 2 dime size holes were located by the sink. Plan of Correction: The holes are for another paper towel dispenser, we will have it reinstalled.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, not all hazardous substances were locked and inaccessible to children. Evidence: Hazardous substances, such as suntan lotion and bleach were accessible to children, in an unlocked cabinet in the Pre K 2. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on observation, not all electrical outlets are covered. Evidence: Outlets and power strips in the Beginners and Pre K 2 classrooms were uncovered and accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-320-B Description: Based on observation, not all restroom's were equipped with paper towels and soap. Evidence: Restrooms in the Beginner's and Pre K 1 did not have soap and paper towels. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-440-B Description: Based on observation cots are not identified for use by a specific child. Evidence: Cots in the Toddler, Infant II, Intermediates, Pre K1 and Pre K 2 classrooms were not labeled for individual use. Plan of Correction: We will label the cots immediately.

Evidence: In the Beginners classroom, the diapering surface has other items located on it, including paper towels and a tape dispenser. Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
