A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was completed on March 8, 2019 from approximately 12:45p.m. to 4:00p.m. to review additional health and safety requirements. Ninety-nine children were in care during the inspection. Staff and children, ages infant to school age, were observed in ten classrooms with adequate staff ratios. The school age children are in a separate building. Children and staff were observed engaging in activities to include nap time, diapering, hand washing, arising from nap, snack time and working on home work. Children?s equipment, learning materials, outdoor and indoor space, rest rooms, and the first aid and emergency supplies were inspected. Ten children?s records, five staff records, two corporate officer records, one agent record, annual fire and health inspections, fire drill, shelter in place and lock down drill logs, daily health observation and medication administration certifications, medication authorizations and logs, injury reports, daily attendance, the liability insurance policy, the emergency preparedness plan, the injury prevention plan and required postings were reviewed. The Director was available for interview and the inspection and was present at the exit interview at which time inspection findings were reviewed and an Acknowledgement of Inspection form was signed and left with the licensee. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
