An unannounced renewal study was conducted today. All rooms are in ratio during the inspection. 5 staff and 5 children's records were reviewed. See violation notice for missing items. Children were observed playing with toys, enjoying the sunshine outside, painting, during diapering, washing hands and being fed. Emergency supplies, first aid supplies, medications and labeled bottles are all in compliance. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on a review of records, children's records do not include all required information. Evidence: Missing information includes, but may not be limited to: *2 of 5 records reviewed did not contain complete address information for emergency contacts. (Children 1, 2). *3 of 5 did not contain the date and signature of person having viewed the proof of birth documentation. (Children 2, 4, 5). Plan of Correction: *The birth certificates were documented today. * We will contact the parents to get the complete addresses today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on direct observation, an area of the facility was not kept in safe and operable condition. Evidence: The handle to an under the sink cabinet was not attached properly, and was hanging loose. Plan of Correction: Repaired during the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-420-E-1 Description: Based on staff's statements, time spent on stomach for infants that require it, is not being documented properly. Plan of Correction: We will ensure teachers document tummy time that is happening in the classroom.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on a review of records, emergency evacuations were not conducted monthly. Evidence: No emergency drill was conducted for the month of January 2019. Plan of Correction: An additional drill will be conducted this year.
