A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 3/26/2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Children were observed during diapering, playing, rest time, and lunch. Six children's records and five staff records were reviewed. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Call 276-698-9981 with any questions.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-790-F Description: Based on interview and record review, staff was not aware of a child's allergy. Evidence: 1. The inspector asked about allergies in the toddler room where a child had a documented allergy and the staff were not aware of it. The child was in care and the food that the child was allergic to was being served Plan of Correction: Staff will be made aware of all allergies and plans.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-520-B-11 Description: Based on record review, the center did not have a written allergy plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed a dr's note for an allergy and there was no allergy plan. Plan of Correction: The center staff will get a an allergy plan.
