Comments:
Today an unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted between 7:45am and 9:00am. There were 51 children present with 4 direct staff. Children were observed playing games, doing homework, reading, going outside and eating breakfast. Emergency plans, medications with authorizations, MAT (medication administration training), and first aid/CPR certifications were checked today. Staff records are reviewed annually in the administrative office. Positive interactions were observed between staff and children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N
Description: Based on review of medications, there is not a system in place to return expired medications upon expiration. Evidence: Child #1 has a medication on site that expired 2/19.

Plan of Correction: We will return it to the parent and review medications monthly.
