Comments:
Your time and assistance were appreciated during the unannounced monitoring inspection conducted on April 11, 2019, between the hours of approximately 10:36 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Thirteen (13) children, in two classrooms, were in the care of five staff members during the on site inspection. Two additional staff members were present and able to assist, as needed. Five children's records were reviewed and five staff records were reviewed and/or updated. Six children's medications two children's topical ointments and the accompanying authorization forms/administration logs were reviewed. Safety equipment (first aid kit, flashlight and radio), posted information (license, inspection documentation, menu, daily schedules, emergency evacuation diagram/plan and emergency telephone numbers) facility documents (injury reports and emergency evacuation drills), classrooms and the outdoor play area were observed/reviewed. The posted menu and daily schedules accurately reflected the lunch served and the activities provided on this date. Lunch included: chicken strips, mixed vegetables, applesauce, bread and milk. Staff/child interactions were observed to be positive and supportive of children's individual needs. The facility was observed to be clean and supplied with a variety of age/stage appropriate learning and play materials/toys. Program observation was completed. Activities observed on this date included: indoor play (toys and sponge painting); handwashing procedures; lunch; infant care and preparation for naptime. The program continues to maintain substantial compliance with the licensing standards; no violations were cited during this inspection. The resilient surfacing on the playground was measured and observed to be very compacted. Although the depth is adequate, the surfacing should be loosened or additional surfacing should be added. Please contact me if you have concerns regarding this inspection, the licensing standards and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 430-9262.
