An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, April 12, 2019 to determine compliance with licensing standards. The Inspector arrived at 9:00 am and concluded the inspection at 10:45 am. The administrator participated in the inspection. Upon the inspectors arrival, the children in the infant room were finishing snack and preparing to go outside. Outside they played with different sand toys and balls. The toddler class was observed working on task, having snack and drawing. Bathroom breaks were being conducted and hand washing was observed. Staff interacted and participated in play in a positive manner with the children. Children provided their own meals which were labeled with names and today's date. All areas of the facility were inspected to include two classrooms, hallway, bathroom and out door playground. Classrooms are equipped with age and stage appropriate materials. The following required information was posted: license, last inspection notice, emergency number, evacuation maps/procedures. playground safety plan and daily schedules. The first aid kit and non medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care. Two staff records and five children's records were reviewed. Medication and medication authorizations were reviewed. Staff have current EMAT certification. Multiple staff have current CPR, First Aid and Daily Heath Observation training, The most recent evacuation drill was documented on 04/08/2019. A shelter-in-place drills was conducted on 01/03/2019. A second shelter-in-place drill will need to be completed by the end of the year. Today's Ratios: Infants: 5 children with 2 staff. Toddler: 11 children with 3 staff.
