Discussed staff scheduling and methods implemented to assist with coverage of ratios in classrooms. Also discussed policies for transitioning children due to developmental needs, staff tardiness policies (addressing staff that are 8-10 minutes late or consistently tardy) and previous violations.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between 8:50am and 11:05am. 65 children were directly supervised by 9 staff members. 4 children were in the process of being transitioned, due to developmental needs, as the LI arrived. This week is spring break for Loudoun County, a nurse was present giving staff TB tests and the school age children were leaving for a field trip. The physical space, children's records, staff records, evacuation drills, attendance records, updated allergy lists and required posted documents were reviewed. The entire staff is certified in CPR/First Aid, a large number are certified in MAT training and several are driver certified. The classrooms contained an ample supply of age appropriate materials and child artwork was displayed throughout. Children were observed finishing morning snack (biscuits, soy butter, fresh fruit & milk), reading, playing in small groups and interacting with staff.
