Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 51 children present with 11 staff present. All five classrooms observed today. The toddler 1 class were preparing to transition to outdoor play time. The room was decorated with seasonal arts and crafts such as frogs on lily pads that were completed by the children. All topical ointments and authorizations were reviewed and found current. In the Toddler 2 class the children were seated on the carpet counting with staff and singing in spanish. They were naming family members in spanish along with the teacher. Egg carton painted trees on display in the hallway was found along with caterpillar artwork. In the Preschool 1 class the children were sitting in a circle listening to staff read a book on trains. This correlated with the planned program lesson on transportation. The Preschool 2 class had Earth Day projects on display and charting of earth patterns. They were in small groups engaged in various small activities. In the PreK class, they were divided into small groups of sensory playdoh, dramatic play and working in workbooks, writing the letter "B". Hand washing procedures observed today along with lunch. Staff were observed sitting with the children while they ate. Ample amounts for second servings. A total of 5 children and 5 staff records reviewed today. This inspection began at 10am and ended at 12:25pm. Thank you for your cooperation on this busy day of parent teacher conferences.
