Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted on 04/15/2019 from 10:39am to 2:05pm. The center consists of two buildings and seventeen classrooms. The center is requesting a licensed capacity for 303 children ages 6 weeks through 12 years. The program will offer breakfast, lunch and snack to children in care. Medication will be administered. Transportation will be provided. The center has submitted all of the required application materials at this time. During the inspection, compliance with some standards could not be determined since the center is not yet in operation. Compliance with these standards will be determined during unannounced visits once the program is in operation. Though some standards of care could not be determined during the initial study, the center is in substantial compliance with the standards that could be determined. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that areas and equipment of the center were maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. Exposed nails were protruding from the wooden fence surrounding the playground. 2. The center's fence surrounding the playground had areas that were sharp and splintered.

Plan of Correction: The fence will be fixed today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-C
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that the first aid kit on a vehicle had all of the required supplies. Evidence: The first aid kit on van #4 was missing a triangular bandage.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
