Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-1 Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on interviews and observation it was determined that the center is not maintaining a 1:4 ratio in the infant classrooms. Evidence: On 4/10/19 at 7:30 am one staff was alone with 7 infants in the infant B classroom for approximately 5 minutes. On 4/11/19 for less than 10 minutes one staff was alone with 6 infants in the infant C classroom. om 4/15/19 at 7:55 am the Licensing Inspector observed 5 infants alone with 1 staff for less than 5 minutes in the infant B classroom. Plan of Correction: We will staff accordingly to make sure staff are already in place in the room when a 5th child arrives and not wait until a 5th child arrives before placing a second staff in the infant rooms.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-F Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on interviews, it was determined that children in the three infant rooms ( A, B and C) are being reassigned from their regularly assigned classroom into one of the other infant rooms repeatedly and causally, which is disruptive to a child's schedule and attachment to his staff members and group. Evidence: Interviews revealed that the children in Infant rooms A, B and C are routinely and often on a daily basis moved in and out of the three classrooms in an attempt to maintain ratios. Plan of Correction: We will discontinue moving children in such a repeated manner so that their schedule and attachments are not adversely affected.
