An unannounced monitoring inspection and facility tour was conducted from 10:35am-12:00pm. At the time of inspectors' arrival there were 52 infant to preschool aged children in care with 10 staff members and 2 administrators. Children were observed participating in outdoor play, educational activities, handwashing and toileting, and transitioning between activities. A sample of 6 children's records and 6 staff records were reviewed. Medications and injury reports were also reviewed. The areas of noncompliance were discussed with the directors during this inspection and are detailed on the violation notice.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation it was determined the center did not ensure that all areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, were maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. There was peeling paint in the Rugrats, Pooh n' Friends, Little Rascals and Sesame Street classrooms. 2. There was peeling cove base in the Sesame Street classroom and the rest room in the Little Rascals class. 3. There were hole in the wall behind the toilet and long the base of the drywall of the rest room in the Pooh n' Friends class. 4. There was cracked plaster on the outer walls of the center in the playground area. Plan of Correction: Painting will be completed 6/30/19. Plaster and drywall repairs will be completed 5/28/19.
