A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 05/20/2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The inspection began at 9:00am and ended at 12:00pm. There were 22 children in care with six staff. The children were observed at circle time, singing, coloring and playing on the playground. Five staff?s records and five children?s records were reviewed. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection and are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-B Description: Based on record reviews, the vendor failed to have staff complete the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of employment. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed five staff's records. One of five records reviewed (staff record #2) did not have documentation that staff had completed the Preservice Training within 90 days of employment. Staff #2's date of employment was 12/17/2018. Plan of Correction: In the future, the director will ensure that all new staff complete the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of employment.
