Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 05/21/19 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Licensing Inspector conducted an inspection between 11:00am -1:00pm. Upon arrival there were 17 children in care with 3 staff present. Children were finishing "free time" and eating lunch. Nap was also observed. There were no children in care with food allergies. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-B
Description: Based on a record review the vendor did not ensure all staff had the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of employment. Evidence: Staff #2 did not have documentation of having the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of the first date of employment on 02/18/19.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the program director during the exit interview: Staff #2 will take the 10 hour training and have it completed by next week.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-F
Description: Based on a record review the vendor did not ensure all staff had CPR and first aid training within 9- days of employment. Evidence: Staff #2 did not have documentation of having CPR and First Training within 90 days of her first day of employment on 02/28/19.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the program director during the exit interview: The entire staff is scheduled to take CPR/First Aid training in the beginning of June.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-770-B-5
Description: Based on a record review the vendor did not have all the required procedures in their emergency plans. Evidence: The center did not have a procedure in their emergency plan that addressed the continuity of operations to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the program director during the exit interview: The director will work with staff to create this procedure.
