An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 12:50pm-2:30pm. There were 14 children in the direct care and supervision of 4 staff members. The children were observed doing individual activities, listening to a story, and taking a nap. The first aid kit, emergency materials, evacuation drills, a sample of 3 staff records, a sample of 4 children's records, and the physical plant were reviewed. The classrooms were organized and there was an abundance of age appropriate materials available. There were no medications on-site during the inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-A Description: Based on observation, all mats used by children during the designated rest period did not have linens consisting of a top and bottom cover. Evidence: 1. There were two children in the after-care room who were observed resting on their mats with a top cover, but neither of the children had a bottom cover. Plan of Correction: We will begin to give the children a bottom cover, as well as a top cover, beginning tomorrow.
