A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on Monday, May 20, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The inspector arrived at 9:45 AM and concluded the inspection at 2:00 PM. The census for today?s inspection consisted of 21 children. Children and staff were observed engaging in activities to include dancing, snack time, transitioning to the rest room, and outside time. Five children's record, six staff records, children's equipment, learning materials, outdoor and indoor space, rest rooms, first aid and emergency supplies were inspected. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-540-A Description: Based on a review of staff records, the center did not ensure staff were evaluated by a health professional and issued a statement that staff is determined free of communicable tuberculosis (TB) within the last 30 calendar days of the date of employment. Evidence: The record for staff #1 (date of hire 05/06/2019) had documentation of TB test on 03/26/2019. Plan of Correction: "TB screening scheduled for tonight."
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-770-B-5 Description: Based on an interview with the director and documentation review, the center did not ensure the emergency preparedness plan contained continuity of operations procedures to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency. Evidence: 1. The emergency preparedness plan did not contain continuity of operations procedures to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency. 2. The director was also unable to locate documentation in the emergency preparedness plan that contained operations procedures to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency. Plan of Correction: "Documentation will be filed as well."
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-780-A-3 Description: Based on a review of the emergency drill log and director interview, the center did not ensure that the lockdown procedures are practiced annually. Evidence: The emergency drill log did not have documented lockdown drill practiced during 2018. Plan of Correction: "Lockdown Drill completed need to be placed in binder will submit ASAP."
