A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on June 10, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. This on site visit was from 10:40 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. There were twenty ?six children in the care of five staff in three classrooms. Five children?s and four staff records were reviewed and updated. No medication is being administered at this time. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Areas observed were: free choice activity, books, journal writing, hand washing/bathroom procedures, lunch, and nap. Interactions between the children and staff were observed as appropriate and the children seem comfortable with the daily routine and schedule. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-540-A Description: Based on record review, the center failed to ensure one new staff had obtained a tuberculosis screening within the 30 days of hire. Evidence: 1. Four staff records were reviewed. 2. Staff #1 had documentation of obtaining a tuberculosis screening on 10/10/2018. 3. Staff #1's date of hire was documented as 05/17/2019. Plan of Correction: In the future I will make sure all new hires have a tuberculosis screening that is within 30 calendar days of hire.
