An announced monitoring inspection was conducted with the directors and staff. 27 Children were in care with an age range of three months to 20 years old. Children were observed during free time and lunch. Five staff are current in MAT. Three in daily health. All required paper work was posted. The inspection time was 10:00am to 1:30. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-40-A Description: Based on review of children's records and interviews with staff, The facility was not in compliance with the age range on the license. Evidence Child A with a birthday of 11/2/99 child B with a birthday of 5/6/99, Child B with a birthday of 10/26/98. The age range on the license is six weeks to 12 years old. Plan of Correction: We will not enroll any more children that are over 18. We will keep all older children separate from the younger children. We will be asking for a variance.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation not all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place. Evidence: In the school age room there was air freshener not in a locked area, in room 5 and 6 there was air freshener stored on a shelf all were accessible to the children. In room one the key to the closet with hazardous substances was in the door lock accessible to the children. Plan of Correction: We will retrain all staff tonight at the staff meeting tonight.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A Description: Based on observation staff did not wash their hands or the child's after a diaper change. Evidence: Staff did not wash the child's or their hands after a diaper change. Plan of Correction: I will retrain all staff on diapering changes.
