Comments:
The inspector conducted an unannounced focused inspection on 06/20/2019 from 10:12am to 2:00pm. This inspection focused on compliance with the standards that could not be determined during the initial inspection. The children were observed playing, eating lunch and preparing for nap. The menu was posted. Interviews were held with staff throughout the inspection and the inspector interacted with children when appropriate. Six children?s records and six staff records were reviewed during this inspection. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 05/08/2019 Last fire inspection: 01/03/2019 Last health inspection: 06/13/2019 Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed: Threes - 14:2 Infant 1 - 4:1 Infant 2 - 8:2 Cruisers - 3:1 Toddlers - 4:1 Twos - 15:2 Younger Threes - 6:1 Threes - 9:1 Pre-K - 14:1 If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector, Kandra Brown, at (804) 662-9038.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A
Description: Based on review, the center did not ensure that two of six staff records had all of the required information. Evidence: 1. The record of staff #1 (start date: 5/13/2019) did not have information about any health problems which may interfere with fulfilling their job responsibilities. 2. The record of staff #6 (start date: 5/13/2019) did not have information about any health problems which may interfere with fulfilling their job responsibilities.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that diapering areas were provided with a non-absorbant diapering surface. Evidence: The infant 1 and infant 2 classrooms both had a diapering surface that was torn which made the surface non-absorbent.
