Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding the importance of completing the daily sheets accurately, a better way for parents to inform all staff on what their child can consume and the definition of an infant according to licensing is "a child from birth to age 16 months".

Comments:
A complaint was received in the licensing office regarding parental notifications, nutrition and feeding. On July 2, 2019 an on-site investigation was conducted. Records were review, staff and management were interviewed. At the time of this investigation, there were findings regarding the nature of the complaint. This complaint is deemed valid. Description: Based on review of daily records for infants, records are not complete. Evidence: Daily records reviewed in the older Infant classroom did not include the amount of food consumed and time.

Plan of Correction: The director will work with staff to ensure daily sheets are complete and accurate.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-520-C
Complaint related: No
Description: Based on discussion with staff, diaper cream was applied to a child that was labeled for a different child. Evidence: Diaper cream that was labeled for a different child was applied to child #1.

Plan of Correction: We will review diapering procedures with all staff to ensure the correct diaper cream is applied to every child.

Complaint related: No
Description: Based on interview with staff, infants were given food without parental instructions. Evidence: Infants in the older Infant room were given snacks without parental knowledge.

Plan of Correction: We will speak with staff and make sure to have parental permission for all food given. We will give the parents a menu and have them highlight what they want their children to be served.
