An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:25am until 12:45pm. There were 53 students present with 16 staff. The entire physical plant including the playgrounds were inspected. Children's records, staff records, medications, menu's, accident logs, evacuation logs and emergency supplies were inspected also. The children were observed during morning meeting, eating snacks, playing on the playground and hand washing. Areas of non compliance are cited on the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on inspection of the older children'splayground, the center failed to ensure that there was an adequate depth of resilient surfacing in all fall zone areas. Evidence: The mulch located under and surrounding playground equipment was approximately one inch in depth. Plan of Correction: Mulch will be replaced in August 2019.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E Description: Based on evacuation log review, the center failed to maintain a record of dates of the practicer drills for one year. Evidence: The evacuation drill for June 2019 was not documented in evacuation log. Plan of Correction: Documentation added during inspection.
