Standard #: 22VAC40-185-430-C Description: Based on observation, recalled equipment was used. Evidence: An infant was observed sitting in an original bumbo seat that did not contain the safety belt. These seats were recalled in August of 2012. Plan of Correction: The old seat was discarded and replaced with a new chair that contained the safety belt during the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-520-A Description: Based on observation, over-the-counter skin products were kept beyond their expiration date. Evidence: Child #6's diaper cream expired 8/2018. Child #7's diaper cream expired 12/2018. Plan of Correction: Teacher's will need to check the expiration dates of the creams. I'll throw out the ones in the room now.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based on observation, the centers did not follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Evidence: The USDA requires that children be served a vegetable with lunch. Today's lunch was pancakes, a sausage patty, mandarin oranges and milk. The children were not served a vegetable. Plan of Correction: I've already followed up with the Fairfax Food Service who cater's our food. I've provided them with USDA contact information.
